Balboa Theatre

We provided consulting engineering services to CCDC for initial seismic retrofit feasibility study and then to architects Westlake Reed Leskosky for the construction document and construction phases to rehabilitate and reopen this historic theatre. We conducted extensive field testing and comprehensive pseudo non-linear analyses to develop an innovative retrofit design to strengthen the building, maintain the historic fabric and support the new theatre systems at less than half the cost of previous seismic retrofit studies.
