Enhanced Sanborn HAZUS Study
Downtown Core Building Loss Intensity

San Diego Regional Seismic Study

A B Court & Associates conducted a San Diego regional seismic risk study to consider the potential consequences of a Rose Canyon M7.1 scenario earthquake to the existing building inventory in the San Diego County region and specifically to the central core of downtown San Diego. We utilized HAZUS together with an enhanced Sanborn database of downtown structures to determine probable loss and casualty estimates for the scenario event. We presented our findings at the EERI Annual Convention in February 2011.
